I have rebuilt the Shifter box and have had enough of being stuck in gears. My question to you is can I mount a universal 3 speed floor shift to my torque tube tranny or should I buy the Patrick's 4 speed floor conversion kit for more money? Will Patricks kit give me a little more top speed than just putting a 3 speed shifter on the floor?

I hate to sound stupid but did the chevy cars have the torque tubes also? Also how can i tell the year of my tranny? My engine is a 235 from 54 but not sure about the tranny..

Cars and trucks had torque tubes up through 1954 You may need to ask them if it will fit truck.
