Does anyone have information or experience in converting a stovebolt body to a s-10 frame?If you do I would appreciate some input on what to do.Thanks for your time.

Its been done many times. If you do a search you will find many posts about it.

Agree with don stocker. What year stovebolt we talking about?
55 1st searies and earlier is a bit differant set up as compaired to 55 2nd series and newer. I am assisting a buddy with a 59 to S-10 set up. Most of the modification was to the box bottom, and adapting the original radiator support to the front of the S- 10 frame. However, depending on the "look",
"stance", "motor n trans combo" etc., modifications will differ
from one project to another! A tape measure will become your BEST FRIEND!!!!!

You may want to look at ad-engineering.com. Kits are available and 2 or 3 tape measures,levels,clamps,etc. etc. are in order...

go to www.e-zchassisswaps.com .....they have the complete kits for what you want to do

why would anyone want to do that, they look and ride great on a stock frame

Different strokes for different folks!
Depends on what they want out of a project.
Also I've had several 1/2 tons that amazingly the body held up better than the frame. shoddy repairs, cracks and rust out. S10 frames are plentiful. Although I keep a couple extra frames around for purist.

Thank you for your responce.I am looking to convert my 52 chevy truck to an s-10frame.I was told that a long bed reg. cab s-10 is the best with the least amount of modifications.

Thanks for your responce.I am still thinking of using my original frame.I was told I could take like four leafs from ea. spring and get a lower stance and a better ride,plus better handling.Do you know something about this?

i took 4 leafs from the bottom of my springs and put them on top of my springs,it lowered my rear 2 inches (see pic) I cut the 4 leafs 3in. on each side of the center bolt to make them 6in total to make a homemade lowering kit and still use the same center bolt [IMG]http://i629.photobucket.com/albums/uu14/kurtdh519/022.jpg[/IMG]

One of the fellows on this site - BC52 - has a '52 with a Nova front clip and bagged rear. His truck sits nice and low. May want to contact him for details.

That's another option, but clips aren't for the faint of heart. I say this as I've seen way too many poorly done clips by guys that were way over their head.

i purchased one of these kits and then decided to go another direction, it can be had pretty cheap if interested.
