I'm with the Toms: leave it one color and put some badass VT magnets on the doors for game day and leave the ugliness in the VT parking lot.:)

Wow, I was hoping that the maroon would mellow the orange but two of you are liking the idea of all orange! Have to think about that.
Hey DADS50, I am liking the color scheme on that truck. Hope mine turns out looking that good!

Have them scuff the orange, and shoot over it with all maroon! But that is the Aggie in me talking. Most any shade of orange is way to close to burnt and t.u. colors for my liking.

Interesting topic about team colors. I am painting my '52 the original Mariner blue which just happens to closely match half of my son's high school colors of blue and yellow. I will apply yellow pinstriping and that is as far as I am willing to go. Incidently, the truck is gettign restored for my HS Freshman to drive when he turns 16. I know, but it is the slowest "cool" vehicle I could think of at the time. Yes, seatbelts will be added along with AC which should really slow that 216 down.

The orange does look great! I think the two tone is going to look great too! Can't wait to see the final product...

Ha, you're a Hokie so you don't have a choice if you want that identity. Do you?

You are right hd4unm, its got to be orange and maroon. The story behind this is that the VA Tech bookstore has a Hokiemobile contest every now and then. I want to win it next time.

Yeah, my dad let me buy a 40 Chevy when I was in HS. He would not let me pick it up which I thought was strange. Turns out he bent the throttle rod and it would only run half throttle. All he said when I exclaimed that I fixed the throttle was HUH!

I have a good friend down there that brings the lunch box RV to the football games. This is how I know.

Maybe fab up a big tool box size lunch box for your bed.
