I have a 49 3100, and want to replace the stock frontend with a mustang II Ifs kit. I want the ride height to be the same, want to use 15" tires instead of 16". Just wondering where the best and cheapest place to get the IFS kit at.

You better do some more research and reading on this. Switching to a mustang II will likely drop the front of your truck quite a bit. Why not keep the stock straight axle, and get a disc brake kit that switches to 5 bolt lugs and you can run any 15" wheels you want.

Don't go for the "cheapest" IFS you can get, as some are surely cheap, but you get what you pay for, and it's a very important component of your truck.

I have to agree. Plus, the Mustang 2 isn't really the best suspension for a truck, remember, it was originally designed for 1200 pound econcomy car (Pinto), not a 3500 pound plus truck. There's much better options out there.

Virgil - You've rekindled a 13+ year old thread that kinda skips by all the on-topic IFS related threads that have happened since then.

Might be best if you post a new thread with the specific topic and questions you'd like help with to start fresh. Please be sure you include details on the truck you are working on, including such things as drivetrain and related modifications, and the desired outcome from the IFS conversion you seem to be contemplating. wink
