The repair manual lists a recommended puller tool but tried to use a Sears gear and harmonic balancer puller but the bolts and center screw does not seem to fit. Any suggestions on a home-made tool or can the old tools listed in the manual still be purchased someplance?

It is versatile enough to work on almost any size and it has a large selection of bolts to use as well. It's well worth the money and has given me not a single problem. :p | | | | | Joined: Sep 2000 Posts: 390 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Sep 2000 Posts: 390 | I just pulled two of them and found that i had to put pressure on the bolts to get them to thread.The rubber in them was keeping the bolts from threading.Also lubricating the threads on the puller shaft helps give you more tourqe.Perhaps you have the wrong sise bolts.Try blowing out the bolt holes,they could be full of crud.

The bolts would not go in. I found that the rubber inside the balancer was in the way. I kept pushing and finally threaded it in and the balancer came off nicely. - scott
