I have a 53 1/2 ton that has a heater core and a bracket behind it for a fan but no fan! Does anybody know what type of fan will fit well? From searching threads on here I am certain it is the standard heater since there is a panel cover over where the fresh air Deluxe type would bolt. The truck has been converted to 12 Volts. I am just planning on running 12 Volts to it with a togle switch and puting a ball vale in line under the hood for summer time. Thanks for any advice! Zach

If that's the "economy heater" with the round core, you can get the motor from one of the vendors.

zachscc well depending on how much work you want to do - measure out the spacing/ layout of the
mounting holes, the diameter of the opening for the body of the motor, estimate the size of the squirl cage. Then go to your local electrical store, granger store or qualified Auto parts store and see what kind of universal 12 v blower motors that they have or could order. Or you could just call one of the venders like fred mentioned.

Good luck

Grainger has what you need in a 12 volt motor / direct replacement. (12DC Perm Mag Motor Item #2M197) $15.81.

Yeah, Auto Zone or others, look into there paper catalog for electrical blower motors, get the universal one with long studs out the front and the 5/16" I think, shaft size. It was about $20 or $25 for one I bought. You'll have to trim off studs once its in or after fitting. Put the nuts on to clean the threads when you cut them off and file and edge there. Vendors have same motor looks like to me for $75 or more sometimes! Hardest part is getting old fan off the shaft or the allen bolt out. BUT, if you don't have the old one, I'm not sure where you can get a fan blade. Maybe same catalog has one listed, not sure.
