Is there a site which has delco generator part numbers? Or is there some other way to decipher the part numbers and tell if my generator is 6 or 12 volt?

If you post the number of yours, I should be able to tell you the original application..
Dusty is correct about the color of the tag..

33/1028 21/9/10/79
The reason I was impressed with this was that it has the shaft out of both ends to attach a power steering pump.
I guess that means I am SOL as far as a definite identificaton goes.
