I had my truck running great, but had a leak in my Rochester carb so i got a rebuild kit in and rebuilt it and now i can hardly keep my truck running. I was wondering how far open should the choke valve be in normal operation? It is a manual choke and i don't remember how it was set up.

Normal operation, engine hot, the choke plate should be open, the choke butterfly should be vertical. Most chevy sixes will need some choke to start when the engine is cold, even in warm weather
