Used Felpro gasket. Plan: Remove manifold; Have manifold mating surfaces machined; Clean head; Replace gasket and manifold. QUESTIONS: Type of gasket recommended?; Gasket sealant recommended?; Torque specs for manifold bolts? Leave everything loose and torque in sequence. I did take my manifold to a machinist Just a dab of sealant to hold in place , but none is necessary. Did not replace heat box gasket..one of the only places it doesn't leak! Will replace HBG before shop work. Have new Felpros.... If you can not push the manifold up tight to the head with out the help of the bolts STOP. A lot of the time the exhaust manifold warps up at the ends. If this happens the alignment studs on each end keep the manifold out of position for the intake rings to line up. A lot of the times I have to leave out the end alignment studs.
