Storing a truck year round on grass in Chicago. What is the best way to prevent the undercarriage from rusting?Plywood a plastic tarp?I should have done something years a go.I thought only salt would cause it to rust. The truck i bought for 500 dollars,10 years ago.thanks

I'd put down one or two layers of 6 mil plastic, or a heavy tarp that has no holes in it.

yes, what Tim says, plus, if you cover it with a tarp, do no lay the tarp directly on the truck, put some boards between to "tent" it a bit so air can circulate between the tarp and the metal, otherwise you may as well not have any cover

No, don't put a tarp over it. Put the tarp under it (as Tim suggested) so the grass can't grow up and blow air circulation under the truck. Weather on the outside of the truck won't make much different now.

Ship it to me for storage. We don't have any grass or snow!

Yea, that makes me think, ole Bertha camps out side over the winter too. But that big old truck sits up high off the ground, maybe a little plastic down below would be nice for such a hard workin horse as her!
