The problem I keep coming back to is the vacuum or lack of. I need vacuum to run my hydro boost, wipers, dist. The 3x2 intake doesn't have a vacuum port, there is just one port off the center carb base that would go to my distributor. I could convert to electric wipers so that would leave me with the hydroboost. I guess I could tap one into the intake runner but not sure if that would work. In addition the cam is a 425hp 409 cam spec with 108 deg lube seperation so my engine vacuum will be minimal. Has anyone ever ran a booster solely off a vacuum pump? | | | | | Joined: May 2005 Posts: 8,878 . | | . Swap to a hydrobooster if you have PS, that's the best option I think.

It only sticks out about 4"or 5" from the firewall. That helps a lot on a COE.

| | | | | Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 6,100 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 6,100 | Hy Jrpontiac, a couple of months ago a friend called me to diagnose a horrible noise on his newly installed tripower on a Buick Nailhead. I went over and found the engine had a huge vacuum leak, because someone had left the 1/4" pipe plug out of the base of the center carb. This carb is your standard Rochestor 2 barrel carb, if your tripower is using Rochestor carbs, you should have the same vacuum port available for you to use for your vacuum activated accessories, hope that helps. | | |
