I ordered the molded Rubber fender pads from Jim Carter's newest catalog and was told they are discontinued. Does any one here know where I can get these?
Thanks

John,

This topic was discussed a few months ago.

Noone knew of anyone making those pads except for Jim Carter. And, no one, including Jim Carter knew of an adhesive that would ahere to the pads. Most likely, Jim Carter then sold what he had in stock and he might be trying to find another source for rubber/molding.

If anyone knows of another source of those pads, and an adheive that works with them, there are others here that are interested in knowing this source.

You will need to see if you can get in contact with Greg Freisden over on the oldcoetrucks yahoo group. He was the person reproducing them for Jim Carter.

Those short wheelbase 5100 series COE's are "rare". Out of the close to thirty of them i've had, only two were 5100 series trucks. Most were the long wheelbase 5700 series, & a few medium wheelbase 5400 series. Got any photos of your truck you can share.

You Have seen a photo of it when I brought it home some time back. Photo in my Gallery. You mentioned that it looked to long for a 5100 so I looked and discovered that it had been stretched 41"That corresponds to the added drive shaft section& carrier bearing. I am just now getting to it. The cab will come off the frame and placed on a dolly for restoration. Next try to start it and see what we have. If it seems solid enough may keep the original drive line.I have to admit that I am tempted to put a 12 valve cummins in it. I don't know whether to shortened it back up and use it to pull a 5th wheel car trailer to instate shows with my 54 3100 pickup on the trailer OR leave it as is and put a ramp body on it.
