When I got my 58 Apache there was no heater in it. I have a Harrison 10 57 HD 02 58B and it fits, mounting studs and heater core pipes line up with origanal holes. There are no round ports on the box for the deforster hoses, looks like there should be another part that goes on the square end where the air flow exits with the round ports on it. I can't find this box on the net, can anyone ID it. If it needs another part for the deforster where can I get it. I can email pics of the unit if needed.

Thanks

without a picture .... no, but it might be part of a heater - for what the 55-59 heaters look like, see here

that's the "standard" heater in my '58, the defrost hoses come out at the end of the top left and that lever with the black knob controls a flap to direct the air to the floor or to the defrost .... yes, you have something missing, where the 3 screw holes are in your end view picture, but I'd have to study mine a bit to see what - for one, there should be a sheet metal bracket there that attaches to the lip of the dash

It also looked to me that another piece was needed to attach to the end with the three screw holes. Need to find that piece and also the bracket that you mentioned.Would like to see a pic of it so I know what I'm looking for.

tried a bunch of pictures, but not much can be seen cuz it's a mess crammed in there on mine - try a description - on your last pic looking into the end of the air chamber, there should be a "cap" piece on the hole at the bottom that has the defrost tubes on it, pointing toward the firewall - the bracket to the dash goes on top of that and both are held on by the 3 missing screws - short of finding the correct pieces I'm not sure it could be fabricated, and short of having one apart good pics or measurements would be tough ohwell

hey Tech - I tried some more pics and got one sort of from the same perspective as yours here - the bracket should attach to the underside of the dash where the patch is, I just hooked it over the lip and never dug up the missing fasteners - the tubes are an odd size so I found that elbow piece to adapt to one and the other is duct-taped grin hope that helps you figure what you need

The pic helps. I thought that the missing piece would have come straight out from the air flow opening. Your pic shows that it goes up above the box, that helps me. Now I need to find it. I looked all over the net with no luck, you would think that someone is making that style box, and I should be able to get it from them.
Thank you for all your help.
I have posted a bunch of pics on photobucket of my 58 Apache under navycwo4 account.

no repros of any part of the original heater boxes that I know of, it's the cores that everyone usually needs, you might end up having to fabricate something .... good luck with it thumbs_up
