got my chevy duty turn signal (7 wires) add on to steering
column yesterday and after about eight hours of this to
that that to this - this is the end results - both front turn
signals lights work with headlights off or on and truck off
or on - emergency flasher works simutaneously in front
and in taillights - taillights with low light amber on -
ther is another wire (black) if i connect this you get really
bright tailights - turn signal works only on one side depends
on how i wire the rear lights either the left or the right flash
when connected on the low amber - the wire coming from
the front does turn on/ off like the flasher - the other wire
is constant on - no brake lights - i tried all sorts of this or
that and this is as good as i can get it - so what gives -
what wire is the monster :mad:

Hard to tell if there is a single wrong connection from your description. Actually, that's not correct. If any one wire is connected wrong, then another has to be connected wrong as well. So there are at least two misconnections. Surely the new switch came with instructions and a wiring diagram?

What year truck? Your sig suggests a '63, but that would have a factory turn signal switch. Keep in mind that you will have two wires going to the front turn signals, and two more wires going to the rear turn signals. You must also make a connection to the brake light switch. All of these are independent of the park/tail light circuits.

My suggestion would be to disconnect everything and start from scratch, carefully following every step of the instructions.

joe way - truck is 1963 1/2 ton c-10 model - yes has factory
switch - where - only thing coming out of column is a brake
horn wire ? - has turn lever - what if i - oh ! i guess i have to

i want to thank all you that help me during my wiring
dilema - today after gathering all the data and wiring
diagrams made possible from you and your expertise
suggestions there is light in (edinburg, texas) my
turn signals work front and back and i even have stop
lights this is even with the truck on or just the ignition
switch on - it all came to a couple of wires needing some
re-routing/all the colors were mismatched and starting
from scratch - 3 weeks of trouble shooting - had it all
working in less than 30 minutes- i can't even imagine
the cost if i had to take it to the shop - again thanks
now is on to the front end and brakes :rolleyes:
