Two Questions - My 46 came with exterior curved door handles. It appears the 41 was fairly straight. did they change? The 41 had a lock in the handle?
My gas filler neck has a leather gasket. I suspect these are war left overs? The Name Plate on the truck says 2359. I am asuming it was the 2359 1/2 ton in 46? Does this all make sense?

All the 41-46 trucks I've seen have the same handles, with the exception of the 41 passenger's side handle having the lock in it, but the shape is the same.

Interesting. Mine were painted not chromed and quite curved. The truck is very origional. I think it came from the factory this way.

My handles are straight in the horizontal plane but curved like a letter D away from the door. Make sense?

Thanks for the comments. yup I am pretty much down to the sheetmetal work. Been years since I welded so I am a bit hesident. I will practice. I added a picture of the handles I have to my photobucket. Do you have more pictures of your truck. I drive mine now without doors etc on nice weekend days. Keep it all lubed up. I like your virtual truck picture.

The door handles were the same from 1939 - 1946. They were chrome or painted, non-locking.

Interesting because if you look at my picture you will see the curved one off the truck,I am sure they were from the factory, are not the same as the ones in your link or the copper plated one in my photo.

yep I drive mine without doors too.

I am not familiar with that other door handle.

I added a link to some pictures on photo bucket. I'm not sure how much space is left but I will add more later. You will see that my truck is only Sorta Stock with modern brakes, S-10 5 speed, new wiring, etc. I was hoping to get on the road late this year but it looks like spring with the remaining paint and body I have yet to do.
