Does anyone know where to get rear brake shoes for our 49 3600?

We checked LMC and American Classic. Neither list them on their websites. Our shoe material delaminated and needs to be replaced.

Better yet, does anyone know where we can find riveted shoes rather than glued??

Thanks!

Check bowtiebits.com. They probably won't have riveted linings though.
Another option is to find a local truck repair shop and have them reline your shoes.

Local auto parts stores should have access.

Bowtiebits.com works for me. Heavy core charge though, $150!! Maybe its a typo.

Thanks for the advice!

It's probably not a typo...
Those huck-type brake parts are getting scarce.

Why not just have yours relined? That's what I did. I also have a spare set just in case.

PS, drums are harder to find, so careful when turning...

How much was the relining? Where should we look?

Try Jim Carter Truck Parts at 1-800-336-1913 or this link
http://www.oldchevytrucks.com/cart/product.asp?prodid=ME1431&i=|brake|||49|

Their website is not the easiest to use, but lots of parts and you can always call them for more info. I bought Huck brake shoes for my 1949 GMC 3/4 ton through Jim Carter.
