After about 350 miles I now notice the doors popping as they rub against the vertical cowl.
350 miles and no problem. Is the fix for this (adjustment of the hinges) the only solution or does anyone have a shortcut of warning of what not to do.

Sounds like you need to adjust the door back. How are the hinges?
Those trucks have a bad habit of the hinge pin rusting and locking in the area where they should pivot. When this happens the pin starts pivoting in the mount which has very little surface area. This will wear fast causing the door to sag.

I forgot to come hack here and explain what I found. Looking at the clearance on the door to cowl it was obvious it wasn't the problem. I happened to look at the leading edge of the door and saw a round 1/4" diameter scratch. I then realized it was caused by the door popper (interior light switch). The problem was solved with a dab of grease on the scratch. The mystery is, why would the scratch-pop sound come from both doors at the same time. Must be the weather.
