I searched and read every inline/T5 thread I could find. But I'm still unclear on one thing.

I have a clutch setup out of (I think) a 54 Chevy truck with a 235.
The pressure plate is unusable, and of course I can't reuse the clutch disc.
I'd like to replace these items with something late model (Astro/S10).

Here is my question, Is there a modern replacement for the pressure plate in which I will NOT have to re-drill the flywheel?

My pressure plate measures just over 10 1/2" and and the bolt centers are around 4 1/4" on center.

Any help?
Thanks.

You're going to have to stick with the flywheel you have due to the alignment holes in it. You're size is good and an Astro Van clutch will work, but you are probably have to take your flywheel to a rebuild house and find the exact clutch that will fit the size you want and it may not be an Astro Van clutch, but you should be able to get a 10-1/2" clutch with the correct number of splines. The other thing that has seemed to happen lately is that you can't buy just a clutch, they want to sell you a pressure plate, a bushing for the crank, a throw out bearing and an alignment tool. They all seem to want to sell you to sell you a whole kit. So, be ready.

I don't know if you have a NAPA in your area but they still sell each component separately.

What they use today as far as pressure plate design started in 1954. So there is nothing wrong with that setup, you just need a new/rebuilt one and a 1" x 14 spline disc.

I am running a 1" x 14 spline 10 1/2" disc I got from Advance Adapters (p/n 716104) in my '60 C10 235 / T5 setup.

i changed my 46 1/2ton to a t-5 and kept the original flywheel, and the original bellhousing, I purchased a new pressure plate for a 46 chevy truck with a 3 speed, from chevsofthe40s.com ...then I went to transadapters.com and they set me up with the right trans adapter and the right cluch disc for the t-5 with the right splines to fit the t-5, (and they were pretty reasonable too) and everything slid right together, you're gonna have to drill out the 4 mounting holes on the t-5 because they are metric, I just completed this in the past 2 weeks and my truck is up and running with the t-5 and an s-10 rear, and I even still have the foot starter
