Hi,

How is the radiator frame mounted on a 1946 chassis.

Are there springs involved ?

No springs involved. There is a " bearing pad " on the bottom center between the subframe and the rad, and bolted connections on the side flanges

Radiator Mounting 1946 Chevy 1/2 ton P U

You will need the following items.
Heavy Springs (2)

Rubber Support Pads (2)

Hex Head Bolts 3/8" X 3" (2)
Washers 3/8" X 1 1/4 diameter (4)
Lock washers 3/8" (2)

Place bolt with washer through radiator support frame
DO BOTH BOLTS AT SAME TIME
Under support frame place rubber pad on bolt
Next install spring
Next install washer
Next install rubber pad
Next place bolts through frame
Next install washer (regular 3/8" washer)
Next install lock washer
Next install nut & tighten to secure radiator mounting frame to chassis
There are 4 small bolts (1/4" X 3/4") that bolt the top of the radiator support rod to the "bull nose" plate.

Ooops...my bad on the springs comment. When I took mine apart, there were no springs.
