For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Oct 2012 Posts: 233 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Oct 2012 Posts: 233 | I have a 53 3100 someone removed the 3 speed and installed a four speed trans with torque tube. The 4 speed has a hole in the trans. rear bearing retainer. Is this a breather hole or a place to fill the torque tube joint?

The purpose of the plug was to allow access to the universal area for the purpose of adding lubricant after assembly. This was an initial treatment as the area is supplied from the transmission. | | | | | Joined: Oct 2012 Posts: 233 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Oct 2012 Posts: 233 |
