I do not know if they both work Or not. I have a new wiring harness bought for my 1953 3800 1 ton truck with a 1956 235 hi pressure engine.
What should I do use the generator or Alternator? I also heard of a MSD box and have read up on them and they sound great a multi spark system. If the truck is going to be a daily driver and/or it will have several add-on electrical accessories, an alternator would be a better choice, but I'd suggest the 10 SI model with the built-in regulator. They're more reliable than the external-regulator model, and the wiring hookup is a lot simpler to do. MSD is a gimmick unless you're racing- - - -RUN, do not walk away from that system!
