I just recently purchase a 50 chevy truck with an arvin fresh air heater. Yes it does take the air from outside into the cab. It also has 2 ports for the defrost hoses but the heater box does not have a lever to switch for heater to defrost and only the floor heat works. Someone suggested it's possible there was a forward/reverse motor on the unit. One direction for defrost and one for heat.Before I start taking it apart would anyone know off hand? Or is it just the lever mechanism is missing? The truck is originally from Texas

Can you post a picture? There were many styles of Arvin heaters.
