I am sure this topic has been here before but i wasn't. Can you turn the old steel drums from '36 1 1/2 ton? I am sure everybody that has one knows what happens to them when braking for so many years,they have that "lip" on them. What can be done if anything? Thank you again, Dan

Hy baldbenny, yes those drums can be turned, it seems to me we wrapped a large rubber band around them to prevent the ringing noise and probably to help stop chattering. Now we have nice carbide tool bit so we probably get a nicer cut. You can't take out as much per pass as you can with the iron drums, and definately use the slowest feed on the machine, hope that helps.
