O.k., so i've ran down most of my electrical problems re-wiring my 54. I'm wiring up my universal turn signal to my new front blinkers (2-wire) and i noticed that one side will not work unless i switch the wiring (blinker for parking light) and then that side of course is dimmer. Does anyone know why this would be happening? I've checked the ground connection and swapped the blikers from side to side with no change.

switching the wiring to the 2 filiment bulb results in the turn signal being the smalller (dimmer) filiment, could you have a bad bulb, or a bad ground? try adding a ground to the outside socket of the bulb assy to chassis frame, (good bare connection) rust isn't a good grounding surface....

I have switched to 12V system. I have new sockets 1127 type? They are not mpunted yet. I have them grounded with a wire from the grounding tab to a screw in the firewall where the headights are usually grounded. I sanded it down real good. So what you're saying is that it is just something simple and i need to run through everything to find the culprit? I just wanted to make sure i wasn't doing wrong that i should have known. Thanks.

probably have the park lamp and turn signal/brake wiring reversed....
