Take a look in the gallery.
Deluxe option, from what I've read here on the forum was available on 3 window or 5 window cabs.
Hopefully someone will be alone to confirm what year the deluxe option was started
Exception may have been during Korea era.

In some years, the 5-window cab was available without being part of a "deluxe cab" option.
I you are picky about cab details, I think the 47 and 48 cabs had a slightly different firewall compared to later years. Also, you probably know that the early cabs did not have an opening for an in-cab fuel tank.

In 1947, RPO-387 was the Rear-Corner Windows (only) option, and RPO-390 was the De Luxe Cab and Equipment Option which included the rear-corner windows. Which year are you referring to? As posted above, there were differences, depending on the year. | | | | Joined: Aug 2009 Posts: 163 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Aug 2009 Posts: 163 | I thought the deluxe option was the corner windows. I was unaware there was also a deluxe trim package. Glad to have you guys around.

What year? For many A-D years, RPO-390 was the De Luxe Cab and Equipment Option which included the rear-corner windows. | | | | Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,262 Bubba - Curmudgeon | Bubba - Curmudgeon Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,262 | RPO-390 (and RPO-387) from the 1947 Chevrolet Truck Data Book What is the unicorn that you are searching for? A unicorn is a legendary (mythical?) creature that most likely never existed, except perhaps in fairy tales. Did you look in the Gallery, as suggested by DADS50? | | | | Joined: Oct 2004 Posts: 1,781 Master Gabster | Master Gabster Joined: Oct 2004 Posts: 1,781 | I own a 1947 3 window 1/2 ton now. I am buying a 1949 5 window later this week. I guess if a 1947 5 window exists i will keep searching for the one They exist and are a little different from the later year cabs, including gauges, under bed gas tank so cab does not have filler hole, the 47 and early 48 came with a 3 speed floor shifter with parking brake lever located next to the shifter so no left side parking foot brake. firewall is smooth] with no raised strengtheners and the 47 does not have a cowl drip rail. (notice the steering column hole will not accept the 3 on the tree shift mechanism, this is 47 and early 1948 only) If you don't mind non-original and want to convert your 3 window, use any cab from 1947-1950, not many people will know the difference and you will have more choices. | | | | Joined: Aug 2009 Posts: 163 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Aug 2009 Posts: 163 | If there is a 5 window 1947 out there i would like to own it. I am planning to restore my 3 window soon and i always keep in the back of my mind i heard someone say the 3 windows are more got rod material and the 5 windows were more restoration material

On the heater under the dash it says "deluxe". | | | | Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,262 Bubba - Curmudgeon | Bubba - Curmudgeon Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,262 | That heater (if it is a 1949 GM heater) would be the accessory Fresh Air heater (the outside air type heater on this page).

That's not the "Fresh Air" heater, This is what a Fresh Air heater looks like, notice it does not say "Deluxe" This heater has the Deluxe tag, not sure if it's the same. Here's another Deluxe heater | | | | Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,262 Bubba - Curmudgeon | Bubba - Curmudgeon Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,262 | Was the "de luxe" heater available in 1949? Maybe in early 1949 - it is shown in the 47/48 Truck Data Book, but not in the 1949 TDB. Or, if 5/8 ton's heater looks like the earlier de luxe heater, it might have been a later addition or a dealer-added older heater? | | | | Joined: Dec 2011 Posts: 55 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Dec 2011 Posts: 55 | So what's different on a 1947 5 window cab? I'm trying to figure out what year my cab is. thinking somewhere between 47-50 it has an outside drivers vent as well as fins on the pass side. The inside is like my 51 3100 except the rear of the cab coners is enclosed and there's a enclose strip down the center. This does not look like someone put in it looks factory | | | | Joined: Oct 2004 Posts: 1,781 Master Gabster | Master Gabster Joined: Oct 2004 Posts: 1,781 | So what's different on a 1947 5 window cab? Quick difference is no gas filler hole on the passenger side 1947/1948, 1949 was the first year to have the raised sheet metal indentations on the firewall, the cinch strip for the cab windlass was screwed in 1947/8/9 and spot welded in 1950 on. | | | | Joined: Aug 2009 Posts: 163 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Aug 2009 Posts: 163 | My 49 has no raised indentions on firewall.
