They are in a stack of 5, then a spacer, followed by a stack of 7, and then the axle. However, only the bundle of 7 is actually attached to the axle. This seems like overkill for a 1/2 ton truck. Were overload springs an option or is this more than likely aftermarket? Mike http://s1308.photobucket.com/albums/s609/58apachepilot/Leaf%20Springs/ | | | | | Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 Cruising in the Passing Lane | | Cruising in the Passing Lane Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 | yes, overloads were an option, although it looks like yours has had some leafs added - my 58 3200 has the overloads, but I'd have to look again to see the number in each pack .... if you check the load capacity chart in the shop manual, the extra springs increased the 1/2T GVW from 4000 to 5000, and would usually have come with 16" wheels
