For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Feb 2005 Posts: 531 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Feb 2005 Posts: 531 | So for my 55 2nd, I was able to score an original Deluxe Heater control panel for the dash. I'm planning on using the heater and blower from my now-Organ Donor 56 3100 pickup. What I'm unclear about is if I need anything special in the way of a heater or will my 56 heater/blower adapt?? I've bought all of the cables, control arms, etc from the catalog but, quite frankly, I'm not sure how it all goes together. And I've not been able to find anything in the Assembly and Repair Manuals. Thanks guys. | | | | | Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 Cruising in the Passing Lane | | Cruising in the Passing Lane Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 | heater details are in Accessory manuals - see here and the preceding pic - if you don't have the deluxe heater [different versions shown in that album] then the deluxe heater control won't do much other than run the blower motor Bill | | | | | Joined: May 2005 Posts: 8,983 Sir Searchalot | | Sir Searchalot Joined: May 2005 Posts: 8,983 | But it will look nice on the dash! The delux has controls for temp, defrost, inside air, outside air and fan speed. The standard blows hot air on you.
Right is right, even if everyone is against it, and wrong is wrong, even if everyone is for it. - William Penn | | | | | Joined: Feb 2005 Posts: 531 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Feb 2005 Posts: 531 | Thank you Bill. I need to compare the pics to my heater - it sure looks like the one that came out of my PU... but I really can't imagine an old farmer out in Colorado having a Deluxe Heater having one - especially since the PU had a delete plate on the dash.
But you're right, at least it'll look purty! BTW Bill, thanks for your continual input, your pics and knowledge are a great resource
