It's a pre 86 chev 350 just wondering if it will bolt up to the 4 spd Muncie? Or would I have to do an adapter plate?

You'll need the correct bellhousing, as the 6 cylinder bellhousing will not work with the V8. The bellhousing you'll nedd is be either the '55-'59 V8 or '63-'72 I6 or V8. You'll also need to either modify the corssmember or swap it out to allow for proper mounting, as the SM420 does not have a trans mount provision.

The bolt pattern a SM420 uses started in 1948 in trucks. It is the same bolt pattern passenger cars started using in 1955, if that helps.
