Hello,
My '36 truck (1.5 ton) has headlight buckets with a small parking light on top under a little glass dome. I'm missing one of the domes and am trying to identify the buckets since I need one. I'm not sure if they are original for that year. All the pics of them that I've seen have teardrop shaped buckets, but no parking light dome on top. Is anyone familiar with this type? I will try to get a pic of it soon. It looks like the nameplate on the headlamp bucket top reads, "O-L-D Headlamp Made in USA"
Thanks for any help!

Jeff,

If it helps my '37 does not have a parking light mounted to the headlight bucket. My guess is that you have an aftermarket or a mod.

Ok...I think I have the link to a pic of my headlight. If so, that's what I have on the truck, and the little dome is what I'm looking for. Any info?
Thanks,

Jeff

My 36 1.5 ton has them on it, I didn't know if they were factory or not, I saw on ebay last week was a set on headlights with them on them for sale.

pics here show a few with those lights, but mostly not - probably aftermarket add-on, maybe for signals - the Master Parts Manual doesn't list anything like that and the pic of the early light bucket [called "Tilt Ray"] doesn't show it

I'll have to check ebay. Also, down here in FL we have a major event at Daytona speedway next month, the Turkey Rod Run. It's a classic car show and there is always a huge area set aside for antique parts sales. It's about 45 minutes north of me, and I'll be going to scout out some '36 parts! I agree, I like the lights with the parking light on top...it just adds to the truck. The lines of the '36 Chevy truck drew me into buying the thing in the first place. There's just something about that look. Anyway, thanks for the input. Hopefully I can find another dome out there...
