I can't get the driver front fender to move up and back enough to line up with the leading edge of the hood. Moving it up or back causes the hood to cowl alignment to be off. The passenger side is better. Here are some pics....any suggestions?

Even with "detailed" instructions getting the hood and front fenders right can be a trying experience.

It helps if you have someone there to help with lifting and wiggling. Also helps if all the bolts are loose.

I wish someone would make a video wile placing the hood and front fenders.

I'm still having problems getting the back corners down. Even with instructions.

Thanks for the reponses. The posted tech instructions are good...I did follow those instructions which are also provided in the shop manual. I'll check the inner fender to cab bolts...I didn't loosen them completely thinking I needed to move the outer fender more than the inner fender. I'll keep working on it and if I can't get the alignment right I guess I'll use the ultimate tool...cash...and take it to the great guys at my local body shop.

Such a beautiful finish. Did you use any edge protectors when adjusting the fenders and hood ? If so, what?

Love the color!! It took my son and I many tries to get the hood on proper. Just be patient and have a helper or 2 around!! Yes keep everything loose and cover the fenders!

Thanks for the comments. For edge protection, I used duct tape because that's what my paint shop recommended but don't leave it on long. I used a very mild solvent to remove any residual glue.

I love the color of that truck too. I am looking forward to seeing the finished product. I read the article on adjusting the hood and guessing that fender skirts are inner fenders.
