Chrome is smooth and shiny. Paint won't stick to smooth and shiny. Make sure the wheels are clean and grease/oil free. Rough up every square MM of surface where you plan to paint. That will get rid of the smooth and shiny. Prime and paint. I personally prefer powder coat over paint. It's much more durable.

The chrome needs to be roughed up enough for the primer to get a good bond before the paint will stay put.

You don't want to cause warpage to the wheel or damage it in any other way. This is a case where even if I had the equipment myself I would consult a pro before attempting anything. | | |
