Seems like a 185/75R16 Radial tire might be a close fit to the old 6.50 16 bias ply tires. So far I have been unable to find this size in the USA. Anybody else find this size?

You won't find anything that small in a 16 inch tire. Even in a 15 inch, a 185/75 is essentially non-existant. They would also be insuffucient capacity for a truck.

A bunch of us run 215/85R16. I'm happy with them.

Cletis,

Do you find steering at slow speeds, like parking, more difficult with the 215/85R16 tirest?

Kurt,

when you get the inflation pressure right, you feel the improved steering and tracking.

One advantage of the 215/85R16 is tht it gives you about a 10% higher final drive ratio. Properly inflated, the tire has a "natural" looking profile.

Other than the Coker 600x16 radial the closest domestic tire size to the 600x16 is sold by Diamond Back Tires and is the 195/80Rx16. Scroll down to page 22.

Looks sweet, and considerably cheaper than the Coker and not too much more than a 215/85r16.

Have you tried a set?

The section width is just a bit wider than the stock 600x16 and won't clear my fender skirts.
