Hi All, I got some new bedsides for my 1951, 3600. I have thrown away the old ones expecting the new bedsides to have the fender holes drilled in them, wrong. So now I need to drill holes in the new bedsides. I can figure out where to place the fenders front to back by the running board location, what I can't figure out is how high the fender should be. Can someone measure the distance from the top of the fender to the bend or crease in the bedside above the fender for me? I would really appreciate it! Thanks

Okay, what is it, my breath?!! Almost 60 have read the above post and not one has gone to their garage and taken one measurement. Really folks, this is a legit request. It is possible to place the fender too high and I don't want to do that. How about it, is their one kind soul that will get a measurement for me??!!! I haven't lived that bad a life, really!

might be your breath, but probably 60 have looked at the post just to find out what the title means like I did - might help if you change it to include the year and what 'measurement', then it might attract somebody that actually has an AD 3/4T to measure

My 1948 3100 1/2 ton chevrolet pick-up measures 2.5 inches at top of center fender to crease in the bedside. Hope this helps Rick. V/R, Nick, Bel Air, MD

most folks look at post titles, and the title here is one word, 60 people looked at "measurement" to see what you said about it .... post titles are important, especially for the search function

I guess you didn't read the very first entry dated 9/25, oh well, thats okay. Now how about measuring the distance between the top of the fender and the crease on the bedside of any Advance Design pick up, if there is one near you, and letting me know what it is? There is no one near me that has one. How about helping out?

yes I read the 1st entry, and the 2nd, but before I could do that I had to wonder what the title was about and click into this thread .... you do know that folks read the titles in the forum list to see if they want to view the post? and maybe look at some with meaningless titles just out of curiosity? you're a teacher?

as I said above maybe you have bad breath, but you might just need to title your posts so folks know if they can help so you get fewer, not responding .... I don't have an AD so can't help

I can confirm the 2.5" posted by NJC. IIRC there are 2 holes that come close to the bottom of the bedside at front and back and I would compromise slightly on the 2 1/2" measurement to make sure those lower ones don't "spill off" the bottom edge.

Thanks for the info Curt. I am glad that the two measurements agree. I watched your You Tube video, what an outstanding truck! The paint looks like you could fall into it and never hit bottom. I love the sound of the engine, I have never heard a straight six sound like that. You did one more thing for me as well. I was thinking of putting bucket seats in my truck but your original seats just look right. Thanks for the info and thanks for sharing your truck with us.
