Hey everyone, a quick "hello" to everyone. I've been MIA for quite awhile due to all spare time going towards my sons OT 71 Duster project.

Wanted to share what I just found. Its a big back window, SWB, with later model rallys. 305 V6 Really excited about this one. I'll make sure and share my progress on this and the 63 stepside when I do get to them. smile

Looks like plenty of truck to work on and better than average condition. Any idea why the DS door is in the bed? Hinges bad?

Got the truck home last night. Typical rust in all the typical places. Door is bolted back on, no problems there. Windshield will be here next week. Seal it up for the winter. 305/3spd. Dont know if it will run or not but will find out.

I'll say it again, that truck looks to be in great shape. Is that a step bumper on the rear? The wheels look like they came from a later model 4X4, maybe a Blazer? I did not attempt to start my engine for nearly 9 months after I bought my '65. I did however, put some Marvel Mystery Oil into each cylinder so it could soak for 9 months. I also drained the oil pan and then refilled with oil that just came out of my SUV. I figured anything would be better than the oil in the pan which had been there who knows how long.

What do you plan to do in the near future?

Yes, a step bumper on the rear. Later model rally wheels. Looks are deceiving though. lol. The cab has really bad rust above the windshield, both front floor boards, all four body mounts, and one rocker, oh, and inner and outer roof skin above the windshield. Box and front clip are very nice though. Looking to see if it will run, or not. If it runs, just drive it as is back and forth to work. If it dont, park it next to the 63 for the winter. I have a couple of 350/th350 combos and a 283/powerglide that might get swapped out. Since I have a stepside and a wide box, one may end up a 4x4. Who knows? ROFL

You gonna lower it, slam it, or leave it stock height?

While I prefer 2wd's lowered, the stock height is growing on me. When I swap out the suspension, it would be nice to flip the rear axle, notch the frame, and add 2" drop spindles with 2" drop springs. But to be quite honest, its been sooo long since I have had anything old to drive, I would be happy with just being able to drive it.

I am happier than a pup with two teats !!!! thumbs_up It runs !!! Yup, that old V6 putt-putt-putted to life in who knows how long !!! It was missing a couple plug wires so I scrounged them up, threw an old battery in, disconected the fuel line, rigged up a hot wire, threw the jumper cables on it, and hit the remote start. It fired right up with a shot of ether !!! Oh yea, oh yea !! yahoo yahoo yahoo

Now to git'er dun right. yahoo
