Is this a babbit engine or? The Powerglide car engines were usually higher hp and had hydraulic lifters (136hp vs 123hp). All truck engines used mechanical lifters.

Should I rebuild this non original 1955 passenger car engine or retrofit a modern 6cylinder? or V8 if it will fit. Maybe even a diesel if i can figure out how, what, where who. money, skill etc...
