Can I use the post on amp gauge that comes from starter to power a back up light. Factory wiring diagram shows this post can be used as a cigar lighter option. Stock 38 - 6V.

I don't remember where I tied mine in. No more current than the bulb draws you can about tie in anywhere. The ammeter will suitable.

You want to use the other post on the amp meter. The one from the starter/battery should not be used to supply loads.
