Driving the 57 to work on 9/11. Running smooth and everything's working. Plan on starting to disasemble for paint this month.

Suggestion: Before it gets painted, take some good photos and/or tracings of the lettering, if you plan on restoring it as original. Tracings allow the artist to easily replicate the lettering style and size, and the photos confirm the coloring of the shadow and outline.

And a question: Where were the pike poles carried on your truck? Top of the Right rear fender?

I plan on putting the Fossil f.d. back on even though the truck started out in Sweet Home Or. I can't tell where the pike poles may have been. So far my contacts at either fire department have not come up with any old pictures. It looks to me like shovels were on the pass rear fender.
