The Stovebolt Site Forums The Parking Lot Panels 'N Burbs 55 2nd Seat Question

Will 41-46ish seats work in a 55 2nd? Did the earlier trucks have a higher riser on the floor so that if I wanted to use earlier seats I'd have to fabricate risers that the seat brackets would bolt to in order to give me the proper height?? My PhotoBucket has a shot of the interior rear looking forward on my new truck....

are you looking for full width seats, like for the back? the Deco cab was narrower so the seats would be too, and their seats were a bottom and back that mounted on fixed parts of the cab, not "a" seat really, and no "brackets" as in the TF series, so you'd need to fabricate a lot, including adjusters - better to look for TF seats or something modern, like late 80's GM truck .... OTOH, the Deco panel seats were like the buckets you picture and the Deco front burb seat might work, even if narrower

Thanks for your response Bill.... I'm looking to keep the old style buckets vs newer GM or full width bench.

the buckets were basically the same from at least '39 on and used in other things like the sedan delivery and smaller school buses [buses had a 'fixed' back rest], and the mounting adapted to the vehicle, or to the 'flip forward' passenger side mount - most years from a panel up to the 60's, would pretty well be a bolt in even if they didn't use exactly the same holes ... did you figure out what those you got were? the right hand one looks like the drivers seat with modified mounts and the left one looks like a fold up passenger side, the seat and back cushions are about what any year panel had
