I have a 230 Inline 6 along with the original 4 speed transmission that I'll be installing back into a 65 C10 project. The bell housing cross member is off too. I'm thinking the best way is to:

1. Install bell housing cross member
2. Bolt Bell housing & clutch to motor.
3. Drop motor and bell housing in and bolt up
4. Install transmission last.

Please let me know if there's an easier way. Thanks....

That sounds easy enough.

If you can't fix it with a hammer and screwdriver, you need a bigger hammer.

Thats the way I would do it. I am going to put a small block v-8 in my 56 & thats the order im going to use although the crossmember will remain in it.

They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing.

That SM=420 trans is a heavy suckah. Search the archives for some clever ways people have devised to make reinstalling it easier.
