This will not be a "show" car, so I am not taking the four sections of the hood apart but want to spray it as a unit. Does anyone have experience with doing this? Any advice? How to I make sure the hinge area gets covered, yet moves? Any advice is greatly appreciated. I separated into 2 halves, then hung them from the ceiling. hood I hung them high enough so I could get under to cover the hinge area. I still had a small touch-up afterwards. I will be hanging mine to paint them too as Wayne67vert did. | | | | | Joined: May 2004 Posts: 1,312 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: May 2004 Posts: 1,312 | Hi Chris,....taking the hood apart is actually pretty easy. The center section hinge just unbolts. The two side panels have a thin rod threaded thru the hinge. Soak it with rust buster for a while and it should slide out with a few whacks. I replaced mine with a piece of stainless steel rod that only cost a few bucks. I think you would get a much better job that way. | | |
