I have had a '59 Chevy 3800 for about 11 years and I believe it's time to pass it along to another owner. Problem is - I have no idea what it's worth. I stopped following the automotive forums on the internet a few years ago and have lost track.

The truck is all original and has just under 45,000 miles on it. Run and works correctly. It was a work truck and has the tell tale marks of one - dings, scuffs, scratches, dents, etc... No major rust or dents or anything; clear glass in all places where glass should exist. Needs new bedwood.

This would be an awesome basis for a restoration - I have found very little evidence that there are many 3800s left. Or, it could continue to be a unique toy...

Any idea about price? A range?

There are "tons" of 3800's left! Just take a look at the gallery here for starters. It's worth what someone is willing to pay you for it. They are generally less desirable than the smaller payload trucks. Hard to give you an idea without photos.

yes, what Steve said, there's plenty of 3800's around, but a real shortage of folks interested in owning one, and it's only worth what one of those rare folks will pay .... search craigslist nationwide - watch e-bay awhile - check the for sale forum here - check the NADA guide .... offer it for what it's worth to you and see the response

I'd prefer we not have price discussions in this section, they end up being a lot of speculation and guessing more than anything. From watching these sorts of discussions before I don't think they have a lot of value to the forum. It really is hard to say without seeing the vehicle in person or at least lots of really good pictures, even then guesses from across the internet are not as accurate as someone standing there with cash in hand telling you what they'd actually pay for it

If you'd like to sell it please place an ad in the Swap Meet section, you can always start with a price that you're comfortable with, that's important; either it sells and you're happy or it's worth more to you than the money amount so you keep it. Or can start with a price you think is to high, see what happens and adjust as necessary.

Watching Ebay for similar trucks that have actually sold is one way to get a ball park idea on what people are willing to pay, understand that location can be a big factor.
