An update on my progress on my 57 3100, where I'm installing a 250 with a 200-4R OD automatic. After getting my trans installed, I measured for a driveshaft. It looked like around 54" eye to eye was the maximum length that would fit and 52" just barely caught enough teeth on the splines. I went to the salvage yard and rummaged through their rack of driveshafts. I found one that was 53" and looked to have the 1 1/16" trunion bearings that I needed. At the counter the guy told me it was for a S-10 pickup. It cost $45, with a good front yoke and u-joint. When I got it home I discovered that it used 1 1/8" bearings, so I had to get a conversion u-joint for the back. Turns out its a common one though, used on 88-92 Camaros/Firebirds.
Its SKF / NEAPCO #3-3130 or MasterPro / Precision #372. So, the driveline is installed, now on to brakes. Thought I'd post my findings in case it might save someone else some time.

regards,
Leon
