I went to drive my truck after about two weeks and it wouldn't shift into gear. It made a grinding noise like the clutch wasn't disengaged enough. So i slammed it in reverse and the truck leaped back indicating that the clutch wasn't disengaged. After doing this the truck got stuck in reverse,so i readjusted the clutch linkages and i was able to shift it into neutral without the truck running. But when i went to shift it with the truck running it made the grinding noise again. any ideas what could be wrong. | | | | Joined: Jun 2004 Posts: 8,597 Riding in the Passing Lane | Riding in the Passing Lane Joined: Jun 2004 Posts: 8,597 | Your disc is stuck to the flywheel. You can get underneath & remove the lower cover. Prop the clutch pedal down & use something thin to pry the disc from the flywheel. Or you can prop the clutch pedal down, put the trans. in high gear & rock the truck back & forth. You will feel it when it comes loose but dont have it where it can roll away. They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing. 1972 Chevy c10 Cheyenne SuperIn the Gallery Forum | | | | Joined: Oct 2007 Posts: 231 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Oct 2007 Posts: 231 | Thanks il give that a try this weekend.any suggestions on how to stop this from happening again? | | |
