I am removing the TH350 from my Suburban and putting in a 5 speed manual so I need to fab a clutch setup. I am thinking a hydraulic clutch would be less trouble than fooling around with linkage. I want to avoid a firewall swing pedal and try to go with a clutch pedal through the floor. Anybody out there done this? Is there a kit on the market that would do the job? All help appreciated.

I am working on something like what you are asking but I haven't started putting the thing together. I purchased the brake/clutch peddle assembly from ECI that was recommended from a previous post. Mr. Ralph and his men are good people, they took care of me and even recommended an other person to make the slave cylinder for the clutch.
I have a 39" with a 1954 235. I am working with a 55 bellhousing so I had to find an other way to work the new brake system and clutch. I am also putting a T5 so I have been looking around for what to use or who I need to go to. Novak has a Hydraulic Clutch Slave Retrofit Kit for Chevrolet Bellhousings. I do not know if it is for the jeep master clutch cylinders or if it will work with the one I purchased from ECI.

Weeds, its a hydraulic thro-out bearing.

its very common in the race circles. I will be running one on my cummins/t5 project.

do a google search.

Ram and McLeod are pretty much bullet proof.

if you order one, there are multi-plate clutch units as well as standard single disc units.

Bread, thanks for the reply. I will check ECI and Novak and see what they have. My brake pedal comes through the floor so I want the clutch pedal to match. I don't want to use a firewall swing pedal.

Here is the fellow Mr. Ralph from ECI recommended.
Mike Fortes fortesparts. I have contacted him and let him know what I was working with. He told me that he will have to get his truck on the lift to see what will be needed to put together a slave cylinder for me.

I have looked over your pics of your suburban and you have put quite the time in it. Keep it going and keep us posted on your brake/clutch peddle assembly. I might hit you up on some "lessons learned."

Bread, thanks for the link and the reply. I bought a T5 from an 84 Camaro to replace my automatic but I wont be doing anything until the cruising season here in Wisconsin is over which happens about mid October. I will be posting my progress as I get into it.

Have you got this kit from ECI installing? If so do you have any pictures as I'm curious to see what it looks like. If they are where your links is let me know and I'll check them after work as our firewall is preventing me from see them.

Hey Carson,
I have not installed the clutch yet. I have really been behind on working on the truck. I can send you pics of what I do have and maybe a mock up of what it might look like. I am not too sure if I will have to take out the center cross member where the clutch housing sits. Since your fire wall is giving you trouble, I can send you some pics to your hotmail account.
