In an effort to achieve a more "stock" look, I came across a nice used oil bath unit that's in very good condition (still has original sticker on cover). My engine is a 56 235 that was transplanted into my 49 1/2 ton. It's got a single bbl Rochester carb with a 2.5" opening.

Here's the problem, the oil bath unit I just got appears to have a 2.25" opening to fit a smaller diameter carb than mine. It has the original long clamp and handle and I'd like to find a way to use it. Is there such a thing as an "adaptor" to attache a 2.25" diameter airfilter housing to a 2.5" carb? Would an exhaust adaptor do the trick?

May convert it to a paper element at some point, but for now would like to securely mount it on the carb and use it as is.

Open to suggestions.

Thanks,

Mike

Good idea. I have made spacers/reducers out of ex. pipe adapters.

They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing.
