Is there a vin number stamped on the frames of the 1949-1952 C3100 trucks? I am told that our MV department wants to see one when the truck is brought in from out of state, or made into a street rod. Any help?

'37 GMC T-18 w/ DD 4-53T, RTO-610, 6231 aux., '95 GMC running gear, full disc brakes, power steering, 22.5 wheels and tires.
'47 GMC 1 ton w/ 302, NP-540, 4wd, full width Blazer front axle.
'54 GMC 630 w/ 503 gasser, 5 speed, ex fire truck, shortened WB 4', install 8' bed.
'55 GMC 370 w/270, 420 4 speed, grain, dump bed truck from ND. Works OK.

A very good friend of mine, who built a street rod, just came back from the Delaware MV department. They are using retired State Police for their theft deterrent squad. Anything(antique,classic,home built) that is brought in from out of state, or in state, is run through this squad. They always look for a stamped number on the frame that will match the VIN tag. I was told to go ahead and stamp mine before I go through the lane just to make them satisfied that everything matches. I don't want to stamp it and find out that another number exists on another part of the frame.
