Thanks to Mr. Chipmunk for his tech tip article.

This is the new reproduction truck handle beside a factory rear barn door handle. I had the barn door bezel re-chromed;it’s pictured behind the new reproduction handle.

I measured the length of the Original barn door shaft.

Removed the roll pin out of the shaft.

The base bezel is now free to remove.

Marked where I wanted to drill for the roll pin with a punch. The roll pin is in a different location than a front door handle roll pin.

Marked a line where I needed to extend the square shaft.

I taped the handle up so the chrome finish didn’t get damaged.

An angle grinder with a 3m roloc grinding disc, used to extend the square stock.

Using a file to true up the edges.

I marked the shaft to be shortened.

Slip the barn door mounting bezel onto the reproduction modified handle.
