It has a 55-57 235 in it right now and the current pump is a glass bowl. I like the glass bowl and would like to get another but the only one I see lists an application of 47-51. My current one went out on me today. I want to make sure it mounts to my engine correctly, works correctly and the fuel lines are routed the same.

| | | | | Joined: Oct 2010 Posts: 1,232 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Oct 2010 Posts: 1,232 | Starting around 1952, the correct fuel pump will have the in/out ports angled 20-deg to the block ... not parallel to the block. Chevs of the 40's has rebuilt glass bowl fuel pumps for your '53. < CLICK > Chevs of the 40sI "made" a glass bowl pump for my '54 by removing the top half of a '54 all metal fuel pump and replacing it with the top half of a reproduction pre-1952 glass bowl fuel pump. The two mated up perfectly. And the in/out ports were correctly positioned at 20-deg. Looks and works great.
