Are they the same size? I may need to measure my cover if there are differences. < CLICK > My 12v Echlin Volt Reg< CLICK > 6v regulators: '54 (top), '53 (bottom)< CLICK > Volt Reg part #s '29-'54 MPCAccording to the pic, I need a '54 Delco-Remy cover with mounting "ears" at the base instead of screws through the top. Note: I snagged the pic of '53 and '54 regulators from an earlier post. Don't know who posted it. Good info - thanks. Were the covers the same regardless of the gen amp output? If a '54 Delco-Remy cover will fit my 12v regulator, I'll post a "parts wanted" request. Thanks for your help and information.

BTW - This month, I hope to start stripping and painting the steering column cover that you sent me.

Does a mid-50's 12volt cover look like a '54 6volt cover? If so, maybe I can expand my search. Any obvious markings on the cover to identify it as 12v? The diagonal center-to-center distance between mounting holes on the Echlin cover that it will replace is 4-3/8". The height is 3-1/8" between the lips. Width is 4" between the lips. < CLICK > 12v Echlin cover - inside view with gasketGot to be a lot of 6v regulators somewhere that were removed when converting to 12v. Thanks,

I'll post a pic after I paint and mount it. It completes the 6-volt disguise of my 12-volt conversion.
