I was a bit dissapointed when the shop called to tell me 1 of the spindles was to worn to accept the bushing - slips right out.

I'm looking for a replacement now. is the 3/4 spindle the same as a 1 ton?

Hy Bigtonka, it is a little tricky to tell for sure with a Canadian parts book as our 3/4 and 1 ton trucks are just designated as 14 series. It looks like the knuckles are all the same for the 14 series from 1946 to 1951, hope that helps.

Ok - so the 1 ton is 1430, what was the 3/4?

It looks like I can get used ones from Bills Truck Shop, his catalog specifies 1/2 and 3/4.

Bah - Bill's doesn't have one regardless.

Machine shop is telling me that the hole spindle is out of round and an oversized bushing wont work...

If you can't find one, you could have it hard chrome plated to build it up, then ground back to size. They can mask it to limit plating to the bearing area.

Hy Bigtonka, 3/4 tons are the 1420 series, 1 tons are 1430 series, hope that helps.
