old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Sep 2010 Posts: 575 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Sep 2010 Posts: 575 | I was a bit dissapointed when the shop called to tell me 1 of the spindles was to worn to accept the bushing - slips right out.
I'm looking for a replacement now. is the 3/4 spindle the same as a 1 ton?

It looks like the knuckles are all the same for the 14 series from 1946 to 1951, hope that helps. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2010 Posts: 575 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Sep 2010 Posts: 575 | Ok - so the 1 ton is 1430, what was the 3/4?
It looks like I can get used ones from Bills Truck Shop, his catalog specifies 1/2 and 3/4. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2010 Posts: 575 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Sep 2010 Posts: 575 | Bah - Bill's doesn't have one regardless.
Machine shop is telling me that the hole spindle is out of round and an oversized bushing wont work... | | | | | Joined: Jul 2010 Posts: 66 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Jul 2010 Posts: 66 | If you can't find one, you could have it hard chrome plated to build it up, then ground back to size. They can mask it to limit plating to the bearing area. Dave Evans 52_3100
